Seriously, Catholic guilt has nothing on being raised Fundie. I was raised as an Evangelical Christian - which is pretty cream of the crop within the Christian Right nowadays. Having been born into an AG (Assembly of God) church and then whisked over to an Evangelical Free, I really got to see funadmentalism in all its glory.
I don’t know exactly what happened, but slowly I started pinching myself, looking around and saying, wha?! Is this me? Do I want to be like, like- Sarah Palin?!

The majority of my family is extremely religious- missionaries, pastors, ministry leaders, the whole nine yards. Having questions about my faith- or, heaven forbid- doubts- is like asking to have HERETIC stamped in bright red on my forehead.
I don’t know what is going to happen with this. I started listening to some podcasts like “Infidel Guy”, “Reasonable Doubts” and “The Skeptics Guide to the Universe”. I’ve grown fascinated with the idea that I could potentially have been living the majority of my life believing something that is completely fabricated. What do you do with that? Where do you go?
I tried shutting it down for years… just avoiding my own head. It honestly is easier to just not ask yourself any serious questions in life. Asking why is dangerous! In doing so, you just might actually find out the truth. Is that something I can deal with? Is it going to be the truth I want?

Is there really a liberal PC movement? Is the modern use more of a straw man argument used by the socially conservative right? I think the PC movement is a construct of business and organizations due to how litigious our society is. I don’t think there are liberals sitting around trying to think of ways to make the world more politically correct.
